Spatial distribution of frequency modulated signals in Uyo, Nigeria

The kernel of this study is to x-ray the extent radio coverage two Frequency Modulated (FM) stations (AKBC 90.5MHz and Passion FM 94.5MHz), both located in Uyo, Nigeria. Measurement signal strengths were carried out across 14 locations using a digital spectrum analyzer. A GPS app was used take measurements distance, elevation, longitude latitude. collected data analyzed form scattered plot, contour plots, bar charts, graphs correlation analysis. For AKBC, good reception received by users at N, C, L, F. FM, excellent obtained F, B. under investigation, location N had best while E poor reception. To establish effects Line Sight (LOS) distance on strength, values – 0.84 - 0.67 for AKBC FM. strength against 0.71 0.55 This shows that an increase from transmitting antenna led decrease elevation Existing intending are advised height their transmitter power better coverage.
